The Grant Park Neighborhood is home to Atlanta's fourth largest park, Grant Park. One of Atlanta's oldest and most important historic districts, Grant Park is listed on the NRHP, and contains some of the largest remaining areas of Victorian architecture in the city.
In addition to its park, this neighborhood contains one of Atlanta's greatest attractions, Zoo Atlanta. Located just southeast of downtown, this area is still relatively affordable, yet close to all the amenities of the greater City.
This neighborhood has a very active community organization and is home to some fantastic events, including the Grant Park Summer Shade festival celebrating music and art, and the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes. Of course, Grant Park itself is a 131-acre green space that includes a playground, walking trails, a pool, and breathtaking landscaping.
Ormewood Park is just to the east of Grant Park. Developed in 1892, there are original prefabricated and catalog homes that survive to this day. After World War II wood-sided cottages were scattered between the older Victorian and Craftsman homes and give Ormewood Park its unique charm.
